Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 packet (30g) ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) garlic powder
  • 1 sleeve (12 oz / 340g) saltine crackers

Instructions:

  1. Prep: 5 mins (melting and whisking)
  2. Coating: 2 mins (folding)
  3. Baking: 25 mins (toasting)
  4. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Note: Low heat is critical for the shatter texture.
  5. Melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl.
  6. Whisk in the ranch dressing mix and garlic powder until the mixture is velvety and smooth.
  7. Pour the saltine crackers into a large mixing bowl.
  8. Pour the ranch butter mixture over the crackers.
  9. Gently fold with a silicone spatula until every piece is evenly coated.
  10. Spread the crackers in a single layer on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 25 minutes, gently stirring every 8-10 minutes until they smell nutty and look toasted.
