Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) Yellow or White Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup (113g) Unsalted Butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 Large Eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup (170g) Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 tsp Flaky Sea Salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch square metal baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides to act as a sling.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry cake mix, melted butter, and eggs. Mix with a silicone spatula or wooden spoon until a very thick, heavy dough forms.
  3. Fold the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the dough until they are evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared pan. Use the back of a spoon or damp fingers to press the dough into an even layer, ensuring it reaches all the corners.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove when the edges are a light golden brown and the top has a dull, set appearance.
