Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp (12g) baking powder
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar
- 1 ¾ cups (415ml) whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a large bowl. Whisk the dry ingredients to ensure no clumps of baking powder remain.
- In a separate medium bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Slowly whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, ensuring the butter is not too hot.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently whisk until just combined; leave a few small lumps to avoid over-mixing.
- Pour roughly ½ cup of batter onto the center of a preheated, greased waffle iron. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until steam stops escaping and waffles are deep golden brown.
- Place each finished waffle on a wire cooling rack for 60 seconds before plating to maintain crispness.
