Ingredients:
- 16 oz frozen broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.5 fresh lemon, juiced
- 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place your empty baking sheet inside.
- In a small jar, whisk together the sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
- Place the 16 oz frozen broccoli florets into a large bowl and drizzle with 2 tbsp avocado oil.
- Sprinkle the spice mix over the broccoli and toss vigorously. Ensure every floret is glistening with oil and spices.
- Carefully remove the pan from the oven and spread the broccoli in a single layer. Listen for the sizzle; it's the sound of moisture escaping.
- Roast for 15 minutes. Place the pan on the middle rack. Do not open the door during this initial phase to keep the heat consistent.
- Use a wide spatula to turn the florets. Look for dark brown spots on the side touching the pan.
- Sprinkle 0.25 cup Parmesan over the top and roast for another 8-10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
- Remove from the oven and immediately squeeze the juice of 0.5 lemon over the hot tray.
- Let the broccoli sit for 2 minutes on the pan. This allows the cheese to set and the textures to firm up.
