Ingredients:

  • 16 oz frozen broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 fresh lemon, juiced
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and place your empty baking sheet inside.
  2. In a small jar, whisk together the sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the 16 oz frozen broccoli florets into a large bowl and drizzle with 2 tbsp avocado oil.
  4. Sprinkle the spice mix over the broccoli and toss vigorously. Ensure every floret is glistening with oil and spices.
  5. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and spread the broccoli in a single layer. Listen for the sizzle; it's the sound of moisture escaping.
  6. Roast for 15 minutes. Place the pan on the middle rack. Do not open the door during this initial phase to keep the heat consistent.
  7. Use a wide spatula to turn the florets. Look for dark brown spots on the side touching the pan.
  8. Sprinkle 0.25 cup Parmesan over the top and roast for another 8-10 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately squeeze the juice of 0.5 lemon over the hot tray.
  10. Let the broccoli sit for 2 minutes on the pan. This allows the cheese to set and the textures to firm up.
