Ingredients:
- 2 cans (15 oz / 425g each) sliced peaches in heavy syrup, drained
- 1 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp (1g) vanilla extract
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (200g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp (12g) baking powder
- ¼ tsp (1.5g) salt
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the butter in a 9x9 inch baking dish and melt it in the oven during preheating or in the microwave. Tilt the pan to ensure the bottom and sides are well-greased.
- In a small bowl, toss the drained peaches with ground cinnamon and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the melted butter in the baking dish and spread evenly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Slowly pour the batter over the peaches without stirring them into the batter. Bake for 40 minutes until the topping is deep golden brown and the peach juices bubble up the sides.
