Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 tbsp light agave nectar
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 cup chilled sparkling mineral water
  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 1 tbsp coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp lime zest
  • 2 fresh strawberry slices for garnish
  • 2 lime wheels for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine coarse sea salt and lime zest on a small saucer and mix well.
  2. Moisten the rims of two margarita glasses with a lime wedge, then press the rims into the salt-zest mixture.
  3. In a blender or cocktail shaker, combine the strawberries, agave nectar, and vanilla extract. Macerate the fruit by allowing it to sit for a few minutes or muddling thoroughly.
  4. Add the fresh lime juice and crushed ice to the strawberry base. Blend for a frozen style or shake vigorously for a rocks style.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared glasses and top with chilled sparkling mineral water.
  6. Garnish each glass with a strawberry slice and a lime wheel.
