Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp (25g) Granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups (415ml) Whole milk
- 1/2 cup (115g) Unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- Fresh Fruit (Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Pomegranate)
- Sweet Dips (Maple syrup, Chocolate hazelnut spread)
- Finishing Touches (Whipped cream, festive sprinkles)
Instructions:
- Whisk the dry base. Combine the 250g flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine the wet ingredients. In a separate jug, whisk the eggs, 415ml milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Merge the mixtures. Pour the wet into the dry, whisking until just combined and still slightly lumpy.
- Heat the iron. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes while your iron preheats until the indicator light signals it is ready.
- Cook the waffles. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the center, cooking until the steam stops rising and the exterior is golden brown.
- Prep the heart fruit. Slice your strawberries vertically, then cut a small V out of the top center until they resemble perfect hearts.
- Anchor the board. Place your ramekins of maple syrup and chocolate hazelnut spread on the board first.
- Fan the waffles. Arrange the warm waffles in a sweeping curve across the center of the board.
- Fill the gaps. Tumble the raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries into the empty spaces until the board looks lush and overflowing.
- Add the sparkle. Scatter the pomegranate arils and festive sprinkles over the whipped cream just before serving.
