Meet Cassia Breckenridge

Hey! I'm Cassia, and I'm the person who believes every day deserves a little something sweet. But here's the thing: I'm not a pastry chef. I'm a self-taught baker who spent years figuring out why some recipes work perfectly and others completely flop. Spoiler alert—it's usually about clarity, not complexity.

I started baking seriously five years ago when I realized that most dessert recipes were either way too complicated for a Tuesday night or so simplified they weren't worth making. There had to be a middle ground—recipes that deliver bakery-quality results without requiring professional equipment or a degree in food science. That's what I'm here to create.

My Baking Philosophy

Background & Expertise

Before focusing on recipe development, I spent four years working as a food photographer, which taught me a lot about what makes food appealing—and more importantly, what actually works in practice versus what just looks good for the camera. Every dessert recipe I publish has been tested at least three times, often more, because consistency is everything in baking.

When I'm not testing yet another chocolate chip cookie variation (there's always room for improvement!), I'm probably experimenting with sourdough, planning my next farmers market trip, or trying to convince people that baking doesn't have to be intimidating.
